DULUTH, Ga – After two games in as many days, the Atlanta Gladiators were back at the Gas South Arena decked out in Margaritaville-inspired jerseys to face the Jacksonville Icemen on Sunday afternoon.
The Gladiators quickly fell behind 44 seconds into the first period, but after two goals were deemed “no goal,” Cody Sylvester cashed in on a power play and tied up the game late in the period. The second period saw no goals to keep the score tied at one but the third period saw Atlanta score once again nine minutes in, to give the Gladiators the lead. Atlanta was able to maintain their lead for the remainder of the period and Reece Vitelli put the nail in the coffin with 20 seconds remaining in regulation with an empty net goal, giving the Gladiators a 3-1 win over the Icemen.
