Kurashev recalled from Rockford. Is a resurgence coming from him?

Phillipp Kurashev

Philipp Kurashev has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs and placed on the Blackhawks roster after an injury to Jujar Khaira. The 22-year-old from Davos, Switzerland. Kurashev started the season on the NHL roster following a strong rookie campaign. In his rookie season, he scored eight goals and eight assists and showed a lot of high-end skill. This season did not start off as good as his rookie season. Kurashev struggled to produce offensively in the early parts of the season. In the 19 games, he played he scored 0 goals and had five assists. Kurashev also looked disengaged at times on the ice in his own zone. His lack of consistency in the effort department and the lack of overall offensive production saw Kurashev get sent down on Monday, November 29th.

Since returning to the Rockford, IceHogs Kurashev has played three games. In which Kurashev was able to tally two goals and an assist to average a point per game. This was only three games, but it is nice to see him put the puck in the net. This could be the perfect quick pit stop in the minors that a kid like Kurashev can use to get his confidence back. He was also a +2 during this. I believe that Kurashev has a fantastic offensive skill set with an elite set of hands. When Kurashev is playing with confidence, he shows all the signs of being a top 6 forward with good offensive upside. Will this be the start of a Philipp Kurashev resurgence? Yes.
