The Providence Bruins are locked into a Calder Cup playoff spot. They will return to the ice tomorrow night against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The Bruins still are up for seeding as they currently hold the third spot in the Atlantic Division, but they could fall to the fourth seed and could climb to the two seed. The two seed comes with a bye. Last week, they went 2-0-0-0 with a 6-2 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night and then a 4-3 overtime win over the Belleville Senators on Saturday. Due to their successful week forward, Matthew Poitras takes home AHL Player of the Week honors as he recorded seven points in the two games on two goals and five assists. He had four points in Friday’s win, scoring two goals and adding two assists. On Saturday, he had two assists. Poitras has spent time in Boston as well this season, recording 11 points on a goal and ten assists. In the AHL, he has 40 points on 16 goals and 24 assists.
