Montreal Canadiens Joshua Roy Out Indefinitely

The Montreal Canadiens have announced that forward Joshua Roy will be out indefinitely after blocking a shot with his leg from Edmonton Oilers defenceman Evan Bouchard. Roy has been a bright spot for the Canadiens in his 23 games with the team this year, putting up four goals and five assists for nine points. The Quebec native has also spent time in the AHL this season with the Laval Rocket, putting up 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 40 games in his first season as a pro.

With Roy out of the lineup, the Canadiens will look to Jesse Ylonen or Tanner Pearson; with Montreal on the outside of a playoff spot, the Habs should continue to get their young players more ice, which would benefit a young player like Ylonen, who has played in 51 games this year, putting up only three goals and four assists compared to last season when he put up six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in just 37 games.
