The New Jersey Devils have announced that they have activated defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler off IR. Siegenthaler has missed the last 16 games with a broken foot. The former Washington Capitals defenseman has one goal and seven assists for eight points in 38 games this season. Siegenthaler has eight goals and 48 assists for 56 points in 293 games after being drafted 57th overall by the Caps in 2015.

With Siegenthaler coming off IR, the Devils have now placed goaltender Vitek Vanecek on IR with a lower-body injury retroactive to February 10th. The 28-year-old goaltender has not played since February 10th vs Carolina Hurricanes. New Jersey does not need to rush Vaneck back as Nico Daws has been on a roll for the Devils, winning the last three of his last four starts and giving up three goals or less in all of those appearances, including a 45-save performance vs. Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday at MetLife Stadium.
