New York Rangers Acquire Defensemen from Pittsburgh Penguins

In a trade deadline deal, the New York Rangers acquired defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick. Ruhwedel joined the Penguins in the 2016-2017 season, where he scored two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 34 games that season. In addition, he played six games on the way to a back-to-back Stanley Cup Championship for the Penguins.

After the championship season, Ruhwedel went on to play 292 more game with Pittsburgh, scoring 49 points (13G, 36A), tallying 94 penalty minutes. I feel like the Rangers have a big add on this trade, getting a great reinforcement at the deadline. Currently the Rangers sit in first place in the Metro division with 84 points with 20 games left.
