Colorado Avalanche News & Notes:

Coming out of the break, the Avalanche hold the first Wild Card position in the Western Conference and have a five point lead on the Vancouver Canucks in the second position. While the Avalanche still have cap flexibility, there’s no doubt a trade to improve their roster will come before the deadline.

Nashville Predators News & Notes:

During the Four Nations break, Nashville made an AHL trade with the Vegas Golden Knights, acquiring Grigori Denisenko. Nashville is set to be a player at the Trade Deadline as they have plenty of cap space and find themselves at the bottom of the NHL standings.

Colorado Avalanche Projected Lines:

Lehkonen-MacKinnon-Necas
Drouin-Mittelstadt-Parssinen
Wood-Drury-Colton
Kiviranta-Kelly-O’Connor

Toews-Makar
Girard-Malinski

Players To Watch:

Colorado Avalanche

Nathan MacKinnon has 87 points and leads the NHL in points. Returning to the Avs a champion, I expect MacKinnon to take it up another notch in play as they head down the stretch.

Nashville Predators

Roman Josi has struggled this season and has had a dip in production. As the season rolls on, the Predators will look for Josi to get his game back on track leading into next season.
