Montreal – Caufield scored the first goal of the season for Montreal while wearing number 13 as a tribute to the late Johnny Gaudreau. Nicholas Suzuki was among the top players on offense for Montreal last season, collecting 77 points. He recorded 33 goals and 44 assists in 82 games.
Boston – Jeremy Swayman makes his season debut after signing an 8-year, $66 million contract. The 25-year-old goaltender is the number-one netminder for Boston after splitting time with Linus Ullmark for much of his career.
