St. Louis Blues News & Notes:

St. Louis may be the hottest team in the NHL with an eight game winning streak. In that timeframe, they’ve outscored their opponents 37-12. With that impressive stat, the Minnesota Wild were the toughest opponent they faced during that stretch. This matchup against the Avalanche will be a true test for this Blues team that is rocketing up the NHL standings.

Colorado Avalanche News & Notes:

For Colorado, this game is about ‘asserting dominance’ in their division. A win today would put the Avalanche 10 points ahead of the Blues in the standings; a loss brings them 6 points apart. Colorado added a lot of depth and size to their lineup at the deadline. It will be interesting to see the matchup versus a heavy Blues lineup.

Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou, and Dylan Holloway are all having impressive streaks with the success the Blues are having. But most importantly, Jordan Binnington has been electric in the net during this win streak, only allowing seven goals in four games.

Colorado Avalanche

Martin Necas is fitting in nicely with the Avalanche after the trade from Carolina. Necas has three goals and seven points in the last five games. Jonathan Drouin has six assists in five games.
