HEAD-TO-HEAD

Last Meeting:

The Leafs and Golden Knights faced off against each other last November 9, 2022 in a game which saw the Golden Knights come out on top with a 4-3 overtime victory. The reigning Stanley Cup champions will look to put an end to the Leafs winning streak while the Leafs fight to extend it.

Leafs to Keep an Eye on:

  • Morgan Rielly returns to the Leafs lineup after serving his five game suspension. The past five games have been the best stretch of hockey the Leafs have played this season, so Rielly will look to add to the momentum coming back into the lineup. We will wait and see if Rielly is paired with a new defence partner as Brodie has looked far better on the left side than he does on the right.
  • Martin Jones will likely get the start tonight as Samsonov played last night. Jones hasn’t played as solid of a game lately and will look to rebound tonight. Keep an eye on Jones as he looks to make not just the simple saves but also the more difficult ones.
  • Timothy Liljegren has had a back-and-forth year in what was supposed to be his breakout year. In these past five games, though he received an increased opportunity with Rielly out of the lineup. Liljegren took hold of that opportunity and played some of the best hockey he played this season. With Rielly back in the lineup look for Liljegren to continue his solid play even if that’s in a lesser role.
