Ottawa Senators Sign Forward to Extension

The Ottawa Senators have been active today, first, they recalled two forwards from the Belleville Senators of the AHL. Almost an hour later they announced the extension of forward Ridly Greig to a four-year #13 million deal which is a $3.25 AAV. This season, Greig has 12 points in 37 games on six goals and six assists.

Ottawa drafted Greig 28th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Before joining the Senators, he played with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL. In 144 games for them, he had 128 points on 50 goals and 78 assists. He got his start in the Senators organization in 2020-21 with the Belleville Senators playing in seven games recording three points on a goal and two assists. In 2022-23 with Belleville, he played in 39 games recording 29 points on 15 goals and 14 assists.

Greig made his NHL debut that same season on January 25th and he recorded an assist. He scored his first career goal on February 19th. He finished that season playing in 20 games recording nine points on two goals and seven assists. Last season in 72 games he had 26 points on 13 goals and 13 assists. He also had two power-play goals as well as a shorthanded goal.
