PROVIDENCE, R.I – The Providence Bruins faced off against the Bridgeport Islanders on Friday night at Amica Mutual Pavilion, for the first game of a home-and-home. Providence had the offense going, getting goals from five different players in a 6-3 victory.

John Farinacci opened the scoring in the first period. Frederic Brunet found a loose puck and netted his first pro-goal to give Providence the 2-0 lead. Anthony Richard, Justin Brazeau and Mike Callahan all added goals in the second period, extending the Providence lead to 5-0. Eetu Liukas scored Bridgeports first goal of the night, cutting the lead to four.

While on the power play, Bridgeport’s Matt Maggio opened the scoring in the thid period. John Farinacci netted his second of the night on the power-play, extending the Providence lead, 6-2. Cole Bardreau scored Bridgeports final goal of the night on a deflected shot through traffic. Fabian Lysell factored into the offense for Providence, posting a season high four assists. Brandon Bussi was strong in net, stopping 32 of 35 shots on the night.
