TAMPA BAY, Fla – Thursday night, the Tampa Bay Lightning faced the visiting Buffalo Sabres at the Amelie Arena. Buffalo took a 3-2 victory with a powerplay goal by Rasmus Dahlin in overtime.

The teams would be evenly matched, with 23 shots on goal made by both teams by the end of the game. Brayden Point netted the first goal for the Lightning on the powerplay, set up by Nikita Kucherov. Alex Tuch would even the game up with an unassisted goal, to end the first period tied at one. Mitchell Chaffee’s redirect goal setup by Erik Cernak, put Tampa up 2-1 late in the second period. Tage Thompson would even things up with a power play goal during the third period, beating Andrei Vasilevskiy and sending the game to OT. A hooking call on Kucherov in OT, gave Rasmus Dahlin the opportunity to tip in the puck to win the game for Buffalo.
