CEDAR PARK, Texas – Saturday night, the visiting Chicago Wolves defeated the Texas Stars 3-1.

It was an unfortunate start of the game for the Stars as Chicago would get the first goal of the night in the first period with a shot from the neutral zone bouncing past Stars goaltender Matt Murray. Murray, fresh off a shutout with the Dallas Stars would probably like to have that one back.

Despite 11 shots on goal for Chicago and eight shots for Texas, neither team would score in the second period.

Chicago added to their lead in the third with a one-time slap shot from Chris Terry to make it 2-0. The Stars captain Curtis Mckenzie would cut the lead in half minutes later with a power play goal, forcing a puck past former Star’s goaltender Adam Scheel. Chicago ended the scoring for the night with an empty net goal from Rocco Grimaldi making it 3-1. Multiple penalties in the last 4 minutes of the game would eliminate any chance of a Stars comeback. Adam Scheel would get the win with 22 saves and Matt Murray would get the loss with 22 saves.
