ROANOKE, Va – It was a Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs sweep of a weekend series against the Fayetteville Marksmen at the Berglund Center.

Friday night, the Dawgs started the game slow, as Fayetteville got on the board less than five minutes into the game, courtesy of Jordan Timmons. That score was quickly doubled with a power play goal from Grant Loven. Before the end of the first period, Roanoke’s Stephen Alvo put Roanoke on the board. They continued to dominate the rest of the game, with an 8-5 win. Rookie Matteo DiGuilio notched his first pro goal Friday night as well.

Saturday, the Dawgs continued with the momentum into that night’s game. The scoring started with Matteo DiGiulio less than 41 seconds into the game, with Dominiks Marcinkevics taking the puck in for a goal. There was no stopping the Dawgs’s momentum after that, with a 4-3 victory. All of this cemented a franchise record-setting season, with a 3rd place finish in the league and a 70-point season.
