CEDAR PARK, Texas – Tuesday night, the Texas Stars defeated the visiting Grand Rapids Griffins 4-3 in overtime thanks to a four-goal game by Mavrik Bourque.

The first period began slow for the Stars, with the only goal being scored by Griffins Jonatan Berggren just 66 seconds into the first period.

During the second period the two teams would take turns exchanging goals with goals from Mavrik Bourque, Tim Gettinger, and William Wallinder.

The Stars would enter the period down 3-2, but Bourque would tie the game with his third goal of the night. Note, the goal was originaly credited to Derrick Pouliot, so no hats were thrown.

In overtime, Bourque, who has made it a habit of encouraging fans to throw items on the ice, would not be denied hats as he would put one past Sebastian Cossa to end the game with his fourth goal of the night.

The Three Stars of the Night were Mavrik Bourque, Derrick Pouliot, and Logan Stankoven.
