SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Saturday night, the San Diego Gulls embraced their inner Jedi with Star Wars-themed sweaters. They battled against the visiting Henderson Silver Knights, who sit just above the Gulls in the Pacific Division. Henderson drew first blood with a goal from Gage Quinney (8) at 13.30. Sheldon Rempal (13) and Dysin Mayo (12) are credited with the assist.
The second period offered no goals, but both teams managed two penalties each. In the third period Sheldon Rempal (22) scored a goal of his own at 4:27, with assists from Grigori Denisenko (26) and Kaedan Korczak (4). At 4:47, the Gulls answered with a goal from Tyson Hinds (2), assisted by Drew Helleson (8) and Pavol Regenda (10). Jiri Patera is credited with 25 saves on 26 shots, and Tomas Suchanek with 19 saves on 21 shots. The Silver Knights defeated the Gulls 2-1.
