WORCESTER, Mass.– Sunday afternoon, the Worcester Railers celebrated part two of their fan appreciation weekend, giving their fans almost everything they could ask for. The Railers would have to overcome a 4-1, three-goal deficit against the Maine Mariners early in the second period, where the Railers would then score five unanswered goals in the second period, leading them to a 9-5 final score, much-needed victory.

Ashton Calder would score the first three goals for Worcester, completing his hat trick with two goals in the second period, coming 1:40 seconds apart at the 5:10 and 6:40 mark. Calder ended the game with five goals and two assists for seven points. His five goal effort tied a Worcester pro hockey record for most goals in a game, previously held by John Carter, and his seven points set a new record for most points in a Worcester pro hockey game, previously held by Jim Campbell with six points as an Ice Cat. Ashton Calder was named ECHL player of the week for his efforts.

The other goal scorers for Worcester were, Reece Newkirk, Christian Krygier, Brendan Robbins, and Ryan Verrier. Goal scorers for the Maine Mariners were, Bennett Stockdale, Brooklyn Kalmikov, Ethan Ritchie, Sebastian Vidmar, and Tyler Drevitch. Henrik Tikkanen in net for Worcester faced (27 shots-22 saves) picking up his tenth win. Brad Arvanitis started the game for Maine, playing two periods, and was replaced by Shane Starrett for the third period. The three stars, all from Worcester were, #1- Ashton Calder- #2- Jake Pivonka, #3- Christian Krygier.
