CEDAR PARK, Texas – Friday night, the visiting Manitoba Moose defeated the Texas Stars 8-3. It was a penalty-filled game that featured 74 combined penalty minutes and resulted in five power-play goals for the Moose.

The Stars got off to a quick start, taking a 2-0 lead in the first 14 minutes of the first period with goals from Emilio Pettersen and Matej Blumel. Manitoba goaltender Oskari Salminen would leave the game 15:32 into the first period after allowing two goals on seven shots. Manitoba would get their first goal of the night at 19:16 in the first period and followed it up with seven more goals, five of them on the power play. Fredrik Karlstrom scored the last goal of the night for Texas with less than one minute remaining in the game, making it 8-3.

Thomas Milic stopped 17 of 18 shots for the win.
Remi Poirier stopped 27 of 35 shots for the loss.
