TORONTO, ON. – The Toronto Scepters had a dominant Thursday night at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, defeating the first-place Montreal Victoire 4-1. The Scepters are currently in second place in the league and gaining ground on the Victoire.

Toronto’s recent push is mainly due to star player Natalie Spooner returning to the lineup after coming back from knee surgery.

In the victory over Montreal, Spooner was able to net her first goal of the season to open the scoring just five minutes into the first period.

In the second period, Allie Munroe and Maggie Connors would cash in back to back to put the Scepters up 3-0 leading to starting goalie Elaine Chuli being replaced by Ann-Renée Desbiens for the Victoire.

Despite being down four, Marie Philip-Poulin was able to score late in the third to break the shutout for Kristen Campbell who stood on her head the whole game, being tested with the amount of power plays she faced.
