SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Saturday night, the San Diego Gulls celebrated “Gulls Fight Cancer” while taking on the Ontario Reign. The Gulls wore specialty sweaters with cancer ribbons on the inside of the numbers and one larger ribbon on the front.

During the first period, Ontario’s Samuel Fagemo (25) capitalized on a power play at 8:37. Joe Hicketts (8) and T.J. Tynan (37) assisted with the goal. The Reign added one more in the second period at 8:16 from Martin Chromiak (12) and assisted by T.J. Tynan (38) and Jow Hicketts (9).

In the third period, Reign Forward Charles Hudon (17) scored unassisted only 37 seconds in.  The Gulls, eager to remain in the fight, answered back with Olen Zellweger (11) scoring at 1:00. Andrew Agozzino (27) is credited with the assist. With the Gulls on the power play, Chase De Leo (11) added one more to the board at 3:07. Glenn Gawdin (21) and Andrew Agozzino (28) earned the assist. Reign goalie Erik Portillo is credited with 31 saves on 33 shots. Gulls goalie Calle Clang ended his night with 30 saves on 33 shots. The Reign defeated the Gulls, 3-2.
