DETROIT, Mich – It was a special day for women’s hockey in the state of Michigan on Saturday. The PWHL looked to bring their talent to the Wolverine state and allow young girls across the state of Michigan, northwest Ohio, and southern Ontario to see something truly special.

The two teams were tied in the standings at 20 points each, and both were looking to take sole control of the 4th and final playoff spot. With 13,736 fans in Little Caesars Arena watching, Ottawa and Boston played fast and hard. Boston took their 1-0 lead 3 minutes and 5 seconds into the game, followed by an answer from Ottawa to tie the match at 1-1 near the end of the first period. The second and third periods were quiet on the scoring front, leading the game into overtime and eventually to a shootout. When all was said and done, Boston managed to steal the extra point and the 4th playoff spot with the win.
