JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The Jacksonville Icemen held their Pucks & Paws night on Saturday, against the visiting Savannah Ghost Pirates. Jacksonville took a dominant 6-2 victory, outshooting Savannah 39 to 16.

Jacksonville had taken a 6-1 victory in Savannah on Friday night, so entered Saturday’s game, still carrying the momentum from that victory. Jacksonville dominated the first period, outshooting Savannah 15-4. Just over two minutes into the game, Riley Fiddler-Schultz scored his first goal. He would follow this up less than three minutes later with his second of the night, earning himself the #1 star of the game. Chris Grando and Jacob Panetta assisted on both of these goals. Derek Lodemeier gave Jacksonville a 3-0 lead just over a minute later for his sixth goal of the season, all of which have been on Savannah. Jerry D’Amigo would tip the puck in on net at the 15:12 mark of the first period to end the period for the Icemen, up 4-0.

Tanner Vescio put Savannah on the board halfway through the second period. But in another dominant period, Jacksonville’s Luc Brown and Craig Martin both put the puck in the back of the net to give the Icemen a 6-1 lead. Jacksonville would outshoot Savannah 19-5 during that period.

With a five goal lead, Jacksonville took their foot of the gas and turned on their cruise control for the third period. Jordan Kaplan scored for Savannah to make it 6-2, but Jacksonville would sweep the home-and-home weekend series.
