Lyon gets the start in net, last season last season he went 21-18-5 with a 3.05 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. He will get the first two periods before he turns it over to Talbot for the third period. Talbot last season played in 54 games with the Kings, he went 27-20-6 with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.

Chicago: Arvid Söderblom (5-22-2, 3.92 GAA) / Benjamin Gaudreau (21-11-2, 3.31 GAA)

Söderblom will get the start in net for Chicago, he finished last season in 32 games going 5-22-2 with a 3.92 goals against average and a .880 save percentage. Gaudreau will back him up and last season he played in 34 games at Erie in the OHL and one game at Sarnia also in the OHL going 21-11-2 with a 3.31 goals against average, and a .889 save percentage.

Players To Watch

2023-24 stats

Detroit: Nate Danielson (24-43-67)

Danielson gets his first taste of NHL hockey on his birthday no less, last season he played in the WHL for the Brandon Wheat Kings playing in 26 games recording 26 points on 12 goals and 14 assists before being traded to the Portland Winterhawks where in 28 games he had 41 points on 12 goals and 29 assists. He then played for Grand Rapids in their playoff run but didn’t record a point in two games. He also played for the Canada U20 team at the World Junior’s playing in five games recording three points on a goal and two assists. In the prospect tournament, at Traverse City, he recorded one point on an assist and had six shots over the two games.

Chicago: Kevin Korchinski (5-10-15)

Korchinski in the first game on Wednesday played a total of 18:42, he had two shots with a block and was a plus-one. This is a name to watch for the Blackhawks on the blue line and is expected to make the team and likely be on the third defenseman pairing.
