On Tuesday, the Rapid City Rush announced that Alex Aleardi has been signed for the 2023-24 ECHL season. Aleardi is coming off his first season with the Rapid City Rush in the 2022-23 season. Aleardi joined the Rush for the 2022-23 season after winning the Kelly Cup with the Florida Everblades in the 2021-22 season.

In the 2022-23 season, Aleardi played in all 72 games for the Rapid City Rush. He was almost at a point per game with 30 goals and 35 assists for 65 points, which was the second most points on the Rush behind forward Matt Marcinew. Aleardi finished the season with 32 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -6.

Aleardi has played in the ECHL for four seasons playing in 172 games. Aleardi has split his time between the Evansville Icemen, Florida Everblades, and Rapid City Rush. Through his 172 games, he has almost a point per game with 83 goals and 83 assists for 166 points. He has 100 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +18.

What Aleardi Brings to the Rush

Aleardi joined the Rush last season having a lot of experience in the ECHL and overseas. With that, he brought a lot of good leadership and skill with him to the team. Aleardi has the ability to find the holes and create scoring opportunities for the team and himself.

My Thoughts on This Signing

I think this is a very good signing for the Rush as he brings a lot of leadership, skill, and experience to the Rush. He is a small, but fast forward that is able to squeeze through small areas to either get a breakaway or set up a scoring chance for a teammate.

Aleardi is the first of many players the Rush will be signing for the 2023-24 ECHL season.
