During the 4 Nations break, Seth Jones spoke to local reporters about his desire to be traded. While he didn’t demand it, he made it clear he’d rather play on a competing team.

Following the Blackhawks loss to the Utah Hockey Club on Tuesday evening, Jones let his frustration come to the surface.

Jones is in his fourth season with the Blackhawks and has yet to see the postseason in Chicago. Jones has seven goals and 20 assists in 41 games for the Blackhawks this season. Jones’ contract carries a $9.5m AAV price tag, which won’t be easy for the Blackhawks to move. However, the locker room friction won’t be worth it if Jones continues to speak out in the media.

With the NHL Trade Deadline a little over a week away, Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson now has some extra urgency.
