Solar Bears Off-season in Review at Halfway Mark

The off-season is halfway through, and the Solar Bears have been relatively quiet in signings wise. Here is a recap of the offseason to date.

On April 21st, the Solar Bears announced their team awards with Tristan Langan winning MVP, Tyler Bird winning the Dan Snyder Award, Chris Harpur winning the Rob Kenny Community Service award, Michael Brodzinksi winning clutch performer, and Ross Olson winning Player of the Year.

Last week, the Bears were announced as the winner for the 2022-23 ECHL theme night of the year as they attempted to set a world record for the largest gathering of people wearing tie-dye.

There are a few former Bears at the 2023 Tampa Bay Lightning Development Camp, including forwards Jayden Dureau and Bennett MacArthur. On June 23rd, the Bears announced their season-ending roster featuring 20 players:

Matthew Barnaby, Tyler Bird, Nathan Burke, Joe Carroll, Ryan Cox, Eric Esposito, Hunter Fejes, Alex Frye, Tristan Langan, Max Balinson, Michael Brodzinski, Josh Elmes, Chris Harpur, Kenny Johnson, Jimmy Mazza, Chris Perna, Jay Powell, Michael Renwick, Drennen Athertom, and Garret Sparks.

In future considerations, trades, Orlando let go of Andrew McLean and Luke McInnis and acquired Elmes, Perna, and Ryan Cox. On Friday the 7th, teams will have to submit their qualifying offers to anyone they wish.
