Carter Souch was born on October 28, 2001, in Edmonton, Alberta. He is a forward who shoots left-handed, and he stands at 5’10 and weighs 165 lbs. From the 2017-18 season to the 2021-22 season, Souch was with the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL. He next played with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the ECHL for all of last season and has started this year off with them again.

With the Oil Kings, Carter played 260 total games in those five seasons, scored 60 goals, got 131 assists, 103 penalty minutes, and had an average plus / minus rating of 17. Since he spent five years with the WHL team, he was able to work on and develop his offensive and defensive skills. His time with the Edmonton Oil Kings definitely paved his road to where he is as a forward today.

In just 64 games played last season in Greenville, he scored 9 goals, got 19 assists, 20 penalty minutes, one powerplay goal, three shootout goals, 114 shots on goal, three powerplay assists, and a first goal. Souch went with the team to the playoffs last season, playing three postseason games, scoring two goals, one assist, one powerplay goal, seven shots, and an unassisted goal. This season, he’s played six games so far, scored five goals, assisted two, had two powerplay goals, and two game-winning goals. Souch is a great right winger with a strong shot and great aim. He is also a very physically aggressive player who can throw a shoulder into someone. We will, without a doubt, see much more physicality and effort throughout the season in Greenville from this young and very talented player.
