Thatcher Demko Not Traveling on Roadtrip

The Four Nations Face-Off break is coming to an end and teams are starting to return to practice. Today the Vancouver Canucks recalled goalie Arturs Silovs from Abbotsford of the AHL. The call-up at first seemed to be as a placeholder until goalie Kevin Lankinen returned from Four Nations as he was playing on Sweden. But it was later announced that goalie Thatcher Demko would not be traveling with the team on the five-game road trip when they returned to play. Demko left February 8th’s 2-1 win over the Maple Leafs. He sustained a lower-body injury just ten minutes into the game. Demko will be reevaluated next weekend when the team returns home from Seattle. Silovs this season in seven games is 1-4-1 with a 4.11 goals against average and a .847 save percentage. The Canucks hold the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference when play resumes.
