Toledo Walleye Sign Forward Mitchell Lewandowski

Mitchell Lewandowski, former Michigan State, Spartan forward, will be joining the Toledo Walleye for the 2023-2024 season. 

The 25-year-old Clarkston, Michigan native spent his entire five-year college career wearing the Green and White at Michigan State University. Lewandowski appeared in 156 games for the Spartans with 121 points. He had 56 goals and 65 assists. He also had 144 penalty minutes. 

In the 2017-2018 season, Lewandowski was named the Big Ten Rookie of the Year when he scored 19 goals and 34 points in only 36 games. During his last season (2021-2022) with the Spartans, he had seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points. He was voted the Spartans’ Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Offensive Player. He was also a three-time Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Selection during his time with the Spartans. 

At the end of the 2021-2022 season, Lewandowski made his professional debut with the Tucson Road Runners. He appeared in 14 games with two goals and an assist. Last season, Lewandowski signed with the Orlando Solar Bears but did not see any action on the ice.
