There has been a lot of movement with the Manitoba Moose over the last two days. Ville Heinola was loaned on a conditioning stint, Ben Zloty was reassigned to Norfolk, Graham Sward was recalled from Norfolk, and Fabian Wagner was reassigned to the Moose.

Fabian Wagner

The Winnipeg Jets announced yesterday that forward Fabian Wagner was reassigned from Linkoping of the SHL to the Manitoba Moose.

The 20-year-old played 16 games for Linkoping this season where he recorded zero points and posted a plus-minus of minus-five. In 41 games for Linkoping in 2023-24, he posted six points (1G, 5A) which is also his career total with the club.

On the international circuit, Wagner has represented his home country of Sweden. He’s represented the country in the 2023 and 2024 IIHF World Juniors Championships where he posted six points (2G, 4A) across seven games in Sweden’s 2023 fourth-place finish. He was held scoreless in Sweden’s 2024 silver medal run.

The Nykoping, Sweden-born forward was drafted in the sixth round (175th overall) in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets.

Ville Heinola

The Winnipeg Jets announced today that they’ve activated defenceman Ville Heinola from injured reserve and loaned him to the Moose for conditioning purposes.

The 23-year-old defenceman posted 27 points (10G, 17A) in 41 AHL games last year. Heinola ranks eight all-time among Moose defencemen in points with 102 career AHL points (23G, 79A) across 152 games.

The 2019 first-round pick looks to recover from his second consecutive season-opening injury and find his way to the NHL sooner rather than later. The Moose will benefit from Heinola’s AHL experience as they are currently facing early-season adversity.

Graham Sward

Defenceman Graham Sward was recalled from the Winnipeg Jets’ ECHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals after a three-assist performance in 12 games this season.

Before Sward turned pro, he accumulated 180 points (33G, 147A) in 250 career WHL games for the Wenatchee Wild, Spokane Chiefs and Winnipeg ICE.

Sward, a former 2022 fifth-round, 146th overall draft selection of the Nashville Predators, will make his AHL debut with the Moose over the next few games.

The Manitoba Moose are back at home on Thursday, November 21st for a Project 11 School Day Game at 10:30 am CST vs the Chicago Wolves. They wrap up a three-game set against Chicago on Saturday, November 23rd, with a 2:00 pm CST game with a collectors pin available to the first 1,000 fans.
