Arizona Coyotes All-Star Game Representative

The stars are shining bright in Toronto

Clayton Keller has been nominated to represent the Arizona Coyotes once again in this year’s All-Star game. This is Keller’s 3rd straight all-star appearance and 4th all-star selection. Kellers point total so far this year is 31 points in 36 games played, racking up 13 goals and 18 assists. It was no surprise Keller has been nominated for his fourth straight appearance, as he continues to show his elite skill this season. The 25-year-old star forward is showing no signs of slowing down.

A second Coyote at the All-Star game?

Voting continues for the All-Star game, allowing 12 more players to still get in. Who else could we maybe see for the Coyotes? Here’s my opinion on who I think also deserves to head to Toronto:

Forward Matias Maccelli: Maccelli, in his sophomore season this year, has been nothing but outstanding. Having six goals and 21 assists, he is already on pace to beat his last year’s season total of 49 points. The way Maccelli reads the ice and makes insane passing plays is why he should be in the All-Star game this year. He is highly skilled in his puck-handling abilities and has been moved to the Power Play one unit to improve the team’s scoring chances.

Forward Lawson Crouse: Lawson Crouse is another forward who has stood out on the Coyotes top 6. Crouse is the team’s leading goal scorer, notching 16 goals so far on the season, already less than halfway to his previous season goal total of 24. He and Maccelli have been clicking on all levels, ultimately leading to Crouse having his best season yet. The big man deserves my vote; he shows his presence on the ice, makes big plays, and is loved by the Coyotes community.

Defenseman Sean Durzi: Durzi joined the Coyotes roster during the offseason after losing Jakob Chychrun. And let me tell you, he has been filling the role quite nicely. Leading the powerplay unit and being the Coyotes top D-man, Durzi has put up impressive numbers, having six goals and 14 assists on the season. Durzi has quickly become a fan favorite and brings an exciting game to a very fun Coyotes team.

Goaltender Connor Ingram: Coyotes goaltender Ingram has been lights out. It is definitely one of the reasons why the Coyotes are floating around a playoff spot. Tying for 1st place in shutouts (four shutouts) and having an impressive .919% save percentage and 2.49 goals against on average, Ingram definitely deserves a shot. He has been one of the best goaltenders in the league, and NHL fans around the league have even taken notice of his outstanding play.

Whatever happens in the voting process, there is definitely a worthy case as to why we could see some of the players I named above. All have been big contributors to the team’s overall success this year, currently being in a playoff spot.
