Today, an announcement was made that Boston Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. He did not even make the road trip with the team. Lindholm suffered an injury during the game vs. Dallas prior to the road trip.
Since then, the Bruins made multiple roster moves, including calling up defenseman Mason Lohrei from the AHL Providence Bruins. Lohrei will draw into the lineup alongside Brandon Carlo when the Bruins face the Oilers on Wednesday evening. Lohrei has played in 27 games with Boston this season, tallying three goals and three assists. When asked about Lohrei’s contributions to the team, head coach Jim Montgomery had the following to say:
“Both times he’s come up and played for us, he’s been really good coming up from Providence. Our expectations is we know what he is, he’s a good hockey player. He’s someone that has helped us win a lot of hockey games this year and we expect him to do that again.”

With the four-game road trip in front of the Bruins, Lohrei will once again get an opportunity to shine with the Bruins and try to win himself a spot on this roster down the stretch.
