Early into the first period and scoring his nin

th game-opener of the season, David Pastrnak poked in his own rebound on the ledge to get his 34th goal of the season. Jordan Eberle tied it 1-1 on the power play not too long after Pastrnak’s goal. Eberle scored his second backhand attempt at the side of the net.

Eeli Tolvanen pushed it 2-1 late in the second period. Tolvanen led an odd-man rush after Brandon Carlo had slipped the puck on his stick at the Kraken blue line… he finished at the right face-off circle.

At 11:24 of the final frame, Matty Beniers kept Seattle’s lead going, 3-1. Beniers shot from the inside of the edge of the left circle, snapping the puck past Jeremy Swayman. Jared McCann struck the empty net from Seattle’s zone later into the period to get the 4-1 final.

Brandon Carlo on the Bruins’ 4-1 loss against the Seattle Kraken: “I think we do a pretty good job of looking at the game as a whole. I feel like Monty, our head coach, does a good job of that as well with being encouraging in these moments. It hasn’t been going our way really as much as we would’ve liked since we’ve gotten back from our break… But overall, we’re still building our game and we know what our mission is.”

Matty Beniers on the Kraken’s 4-1 win in Boston: “It was a really good win… It’s obviously a confidence booster and a testament that we can play the right way, and win games like that.”

Joey Daccord on his special night, his first NHL game at the TD Garden: “Trying to put everything all into perspective. I grew up through and through a Boston sports fan. I was here when the Bruins won the cup, I went to game six… It’s been a long road. I’m obviously pretty old for a rookie and my first time playing in the Garden couldn’t have been more special – We just grinded out a great win.”

Notes:

  • Matty Beniers had a goal and recorded two assists… this was Beniers’ first three-point game of the season.
  • Joey Daccord played at the TD Garden for the first time and made 37 saves for Seattle.
  • Jeremy Swayman made 22 saves for Boston
  • David Pastrnak stats: 54 GP 34 Goals 44 Assists 78 Points

UP NEXT:

The Boston Bruins will be taking on the Los Angeles Kings on Friday, February 16th. They’ll also be taking on the Dallas Stars on Monday, February 19th before they go on a four-game road trip, then returning to Boston to take on the Vegas Golden Knights. The Bruins will go back on the road for two more games.
