Bruins Place Two Players On Waivers

NBC Sports

Following the Bruins final preseason game, Jim Montgomery told the media they weren’t rushing into any roster decisions. On Saturday, the Bruins placed Jakub Zboril, Oskar Steen, and Jesper Boqvist on waivers for assignment to the AHL Providence Bruins.

Today, Boston placed Patrick Brown and AJ Greer on waivers for assignment.

These moves show that the youth movement may finally happen in Boston, or at least in the next ten games. Boston is carrying John Beecher, Matthew Poitras, and Mason Lohrei on the roster to start the season.

All three players have earned their spot on this roster, and now they have the opportunity to prove it. Many fans have already fallen in love with Matthew Poitras, following in the same path as Patrice Bergeron directly after his retirement. However, these expectations may be moderately unfair to Poitras.

As of releasing this article, the Bruins have yet to release an official announcement, and the future of PTO signee Danton Heinen is unknown. An update will be added to this article when that news comes in.
