ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Injury Update | 02/17/2024

During post-game media availability on Friday Night, Adirondack Thunder Head Coach Pete MacArthur gave Injury Updates on the following players: Patrick Grasso, T.J. Friedmann, and Nico Blachman.

Adirondack Thunder Head Coach Pete MacArthur Post-Game Remarks 2/16/2024

Patrick Grasso has missed the last nine games with an upper-body injury and will miss his 10th straight game tonight, “I can say he was close for this weekend, even closer for next weekend,” said Head Coach Pete MacArthur. The Thunder captain has 21 goals and 12 assists for 33 points. Earlier this year, Grasso broke the franchise record for most goals as a member of the Thunder.

Nico Blachman, who served his one-game suspension in the opening game in Florida, would only play in the final game of the series down in Estero was placed on the IR on Thursday retroactive to 2/11. Blachman has three goals and two assists for five points on the season, along with 108 penalty minutes in 29 games between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Thunder. When asked if he’s expected to miss more than the required 14 days, MacArthur said, “It depends; we’ll see how he’s doing.”

T.J. Friedmann, who has been hit with the injury bug, has missed the last 21 games with the Thunder. He is expected to start skating on Monday, and according to Pete MacArthur, he’s shooting to return on February 28th when the Thunder begin a five-game road trip down in Norfolk. In 10 games this season, Friedmann has four goals and one assist for five points.
