ECHL: Bloomington Bison Hire VP of Operations

The Bloomington Bison has hired a Vice President of Operations. In a short video posted on the Indy Fuel’s Facebook and Twitter accounts Wednesday morning, Emcee of the Fuel, Scott Alan, announced he will not be joining the Fuel next year as they move to their new space in Fishers, IN. Instead, the Hallet Sports and Entertainment Group has hired Alan to be the Vice President of Operations for the new Bloomington Bison.

The ownership group of the Indy Fuel announced in January that they were approved by the ECHL to place a second franchise in Bloomington, IL. This marks the first public hiring for the new Bloomington-based team. Since their announcement in January, the front office of the Indy Fuel has been performing double duty, working to get the Bloomington-based team up and running. The Bison has since announced their name and colors and has already begun selling season tickets for the 2024-2025 inaugural season.

Scott Alan’s announcement on social media carried a bittersweet tone as Alan’s excitement for the opportunity with the Bison came hand in hand with the sadness of leaving the Indy Fuel organization and their fans. Alan mentioned that telling the fans goodbye was the most difficult part. In only a few hours since the video was posted, Fuel’s Facebook post already had over 100 comments from Indy Fans expressing their sadness for Alan’s departure but their excitement for his future.

Alan offered an opportunity for Indy Fuel Fans to say goodbye at an event on the evening of May 21st before he departs west to begin his new role in Bloomington.
