ECHL: Brendan Harris Returns to Jacksonville

On Wednesday, the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL announced they’ve filled one more roster spot for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Forward Brendan Harris has agreed to terms, returning to Jacksonville for his third season with the Icemen. Harris first landed in Jacksonville during the 2021-22 season after playing 25 games with the Wheeling Nailers over the course of two years. The forward made 39 appearances for the team in his first season, picking up 12 goals and 18 assists before tallying four goals and four assists during postseason play. His eight points during that postseason run led the Icemen in scoring. The 2022-23 season was Harris’ first full year in an Icemen sweater, posting 15 goals and 34 assists through 56 games. He also appeared in all 12 Icemen playoff games in last season’s playoff run, scoring three goals and contributing three assists.

Adding Harris back into the mix is good for an Icemen team that wishes to have scoring depth throughout the line-up. Last season Harris hit career highs in all areas, making him the team’s third highest scoring forward with 49 points. His ability to drive the puck into the offensive zone and release quick shots from high danger areas on the ice compliments the high speed, quick transition game the Icemen play so well.

Harris now becomes the fifth player to be locked in for the upcoming season, which begins in October.
