ECHL: Former Royal Returns to Reading for the 2023-24 Season

With the Reading Royals’ season just over a month away, the team is starting to take shape with a not-so-new addition coming to Reading. The Royals have re-signed a former 2018-19 forward to add to the growing list of talent in preparation for their upcoming season.

This week, the Royals add forward Tyson Fawcett to the roster for the 2023-24 season, but this forward is no stranger to Reading. In fact, Fawcett played for the Royals back in the 2018-19 season after starting the season with the Jacksonville Icemen before shifting from the warmer weather of Florida to the colder side of winter in Pennsylvania. When Fawcett settled into Reading, he played in six games during that season before moving to the Atlanta Gladiators, earning a goal before moving back down south to Atlanta.

Over the past four seasons, Fawcett has been playing in the EIHL with the Manchester Storm. In those four seasons, he earned a total of 88 points divided amongst 41 goals and 47 assists. With his years of playtime across the OHL, ECHL, and EIHL, Fawcett brings core experience to the Royals this season, and surely fans should expect him to be sporting an “A” this season.

Opening night for the Royals is October 28th against divisional opponent Trois-Rivières, and with the season close at hand, the fans excitement is becoming noticeable as social media is lighting up with talks of hoping this is the year the Royals take their second Kelly Cup.
