The Adirondack Thunder had a big win on Saturday Night vs Reading Royals as they snapped a six-game road losing streak. Coming into the game, Adirondack would be down a forward as Jace Isley would be called up to Utica Comets, and the Thunder would be down to 15 skaters as Brendan Less would also be out on Saturday Night with an apparent injury. It could be debated that tonight’s was the first “must-win” game for the North Divison leaders. Adirondack has had no problem scoring first as coming into tonight’s game, they have scored the first goal 30 of their first 53 games, and tonight it would be Travis Broughman would put home a rebound at the 8:16 mark of the opening frame and just 37 seconds later it would be Darion Skeoch with his first goal since March 13th, 2023 when he was a member of the Savannah Ghost Pirates. Ryan Smith continues to dethrone the Royals as he scored his sixth goal of the year against Reading and his 23rd of the season to make it a 3-0 lead. Devon Paliani has gotten in a groove for the Royals as he picked up his 13th of the season, getting the Royals on the board late in the period, and now has points in four out of his last five games. Reading would make it a game as Tyson Fawcett found the back of the net at the 10:48 mark to pull the Royals within one. Dom Marcinkevics has shown to be streaky for the Thunder, and after picking up an assist on Friday Night, he’d find the back of the net at the 16:15 mark of the period as he finished with a two-point night.

On Friday Night, the third period would be the deciding period. It would be the Royals who would put up a five-spot as they got the scoring started in the third as Mason Millman finished off a three-on-one to put the Royals back within one, but just a minute later, after a great defensive play by Ryan Orgel, the Thunder would come back up the ice. Grant Jozefek would find the back of the net for the first time since January 11th for his fourth of the season just a minute after the Millman goal. Ryan Wheeler, who was playing as a forward tonight, and Tristan Ashbrook would add a PP goal as Adirondack put up a three spot in the third to defeat the Royals 7-3. Tyler Brennan made 25 saves for his fifth win of the season.

Adirondack continues their road trip on Wednesday as they head up North to play the Trois-Rivieres Lions.
