Fort Wayne, Indiana—On Friday, September 6th, the Fort Wayne Komets announced their 2024 preseason schedule. Much like their 2023 preseason, this will consist of two games against the Iowa Heartlanders at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

These two games will be played on Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12, with the next weekend featuring Friday and Saturday as the regular season opener where the two teams will face each other at Xtream Arena in Iowa.

Last season was the first time the Iowa Heartlanders played preseason games, with the 2023 preseason editions of this tense Central Division rivalry both going the way of the K’s, by scores of 3-2 and 5-3. The only player who scored in this series that remains with their team since preseason 2023 is Iowa’s Jules Boscq. However, Odeen Tufto has left the buck and rose behind and moved to play for the Komets.

These two preseason games will be the only time the Komets host the Landers in the 2024-25 campaign, despite the two being set to meet in Iowa five times and competing for the same playoff spots.

Tickets will be available to this game and other Komets games starting Monday, September 16, as will tickets to the games in Iowa to begin the regular season soon.
