ECHL: Jeremy Brodeur Recalled To Utica Comets

Andrew Fielder/InsideTheRink

The Utica Comets have announced that they’ve recalled goaltender Jeremy Brodeur from the Adirondack Thunder. This comes as Jake Allen is dealing with an injury with the New Jersey Devils, and Nico Daws is still day-to-day in Utica. Brodeur is 6-4 this season with a 2.94 GAA and .895 SV%, with one shutout in 11 games with Adirondack. The Essex Fells, NJ native appeared in one game with the Comets last season, where he stopped 20 of the 22 shots in relief of Isaac Poulter on December 27th, 2023. He has appeared in five AHL games throughout his career and is still looking for his first career AHL win. The Thunder goaltending tandem of Jeremy Brodeur and Tyler Brennan will likely be the tandem for Utica when they face off against the Syracuse Crunch on Saturday Night.

What Does This Mean for the Thunder?

Heading into the weekend series against the Maine Mariners, David Fessenden will be the Thunder goaltender. He’s coming off a strong pro debut, stopping 40 shots in Adirondack’s 3-2 OT win on Friday Night against the Reading Royals. Adirondack is bringing in a familiar name, Brandon Kasel, to serve as the EBUG this weekend. Kasel, 28, played his four years at Skidmore College before joining the Thunder during the 2021-22 season. In 27 games with Adirondack, the Ithaca, NY native would put up an 8-15-2 record with a 3.56 GAA and .895SV%, along with one shutout. Kasel served as the EBUG for Adirondack once during the 2023-24 season.
