ECHL: Swamp Rabbits Re-sign Forward Josh McKechney

Greenville, SC—It’s another resigning day for the Swamp Rabbits, as the club announced that they have re-signed forward Josh McKechney. McKechney, 26, played 51 games for the Swamp Rabbits, along with five Kelly Cup Playoffs games; he tallied up 15 goals and 21 assists, plus two goals and two assists during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Before being traded to Greenville during the 2022-23 season, McKechney played ten games with the Wheeling Nailers and tallied up one goal and three assists; also, he played five games with the Maine Mariners and added an assist to his record. Before making his ECHL debut in 2021-2022, McKechney played for Colgate University—similar to Colton Young, who recently resigned with the Rabbits as well. He played five seasons for Colgate University, and for the 2021-22 season, he played 40 games and tallied up 14 goals and 13 assists. Upon receiving a contract to play for the Atlanta Gladiators in 2021-2022, he played three games, picking up an assist in two of them. The Calgary, Alberta native is intense on the power play, as he served as a left-wing forward for either the first or second PP line for the Swamp Rabbits.
