ECHL Transactions: Worcester Railers Make Two Moves

Attention Worcester Railers fans; another big signing in the books occurred today. The team announced they will be signing defenseman CJ Regula. For most New England natives that name sounds familiar because he is the brother to Alec Regula on the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

Regula also hails from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where his new teammate, Austin Heidemann, is also from. He only spent one season there, then transferred to play the next four at Ohio State. In 117 total games in college, the defenseman racked up 19 total points, with four goals to go along with 15 assists. (4-15-19)

Regula spent some time around the block prior to his collegiate career. He spent five seasons in the North American Hockey League, where he tallied up 159 career games. Between playing for the Wichita Falls Wildcats, Corpus Christi Ice Rays, Minnesota Wilderness, and Shreveport Mudbugs, Regula had 79 points to his name with 26 goals and 53 assists. (26-53-79)

That is not the only move the team made today. They also decided to add Todd Goehring to waivers. Goehring is still on the Railers and with a contract. Other teams are still Welcome to claim Goehring if they see fit for their team and his contract would go with him as well.

Todd came out of Sacred Heart University, where he spent five seasons. In 150 career games in Division 1 he notched 56 career points and to go with that 27 goals and 29 assists. (27-29-56) Prior to coming to Worcester, Goehring signed with the Atlanta Gladiators for six games, where he did not play enough to score any points but did receive two penalty minutes in his time there.

He only played 26 games for the Railers this year due to coming from the Fayetteville Marksman of the SPHL. With Worcester he put up eight points with one goal and seven assists. (1-7-8) With the performance he has put up this season it is an understandable move by the Worcester Railers.
