ECHL: Trois-Rivieres Lions Transactions | 04/05/2024

The Trois-Rivieres Lions have announced that they have signed defenseman Kirby Proctor to a standard ECHL contract for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. Proctor joins the Lions after spending the last five years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he scored 17 goals and 34 assists for 51 points in 172 games with the Mavericks. The 6’3, 207lb defenseman is coming off his best season, where he put up seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 40 games. Trois-Rivieres has suspended winger Benjamin Tupker from the team in order to protect his ECHL rights. Tupker played in eight games with the Lions and put up two assists after joining this team after spending the last two seasons at Union College as the team’s captain; he had spent three years at Cornell University prior to joining the Garnet Chargers. The Ontario Native put up 20 goals and 15 assists for 35 points in 103 games at the college level.

Strauss Mann is returning to Laval after spending the last three weeks with the Lions. Mann has split his season between Trois-Rivieres and Laval this season, putting up a 6-2-1 record with a 2.54 GAA, .914SV%, and one shutout in 10 games with the Lions. In his time with the Rocket, he’s struggled as he’s put up a 2-9-2 record with a 3.69 GAA and .879 SV% in 15 games in Laval. The Connecticut native has had trouble finding playing time in Laval ever since the team brought in Kasimir Kaskisuo in December to back up Jakub Dobes.
