Wrap Up

Tonight is a crucial game for the Detroit Red Wings as they wrap up February since the calendar turned to 2024 they are 16-4-2 and in February they are 7-2-0 which has helped them create this separation from all the teams behind them and have fans thinking of playoffs as the calendar flips to March. The Red Wings will look to extend their win streak to seven games tonight and have a chance to grab another two points on their lead in the Wild Card. With a win tonight and a loss by Toronto the Red Wings would also tie the Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division however Toronto would have the edge with a game in hand but the chance of moving out of the Wild Card discussion is closing in.

In their last ten games against New York, Detroit is 4-6-0, and have been outscored 34-20 in those ten games. Detroit beat the Islanders back on October 30th, 4-3 in overtime.
