ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades hosted the Adirondack Thunder for game two of their series Friday night at Hertz Arena.
The near-sell-out crowd of 7,010 barely made it to their seats before Everblades defenseman Zach Uens scored his first goal 15 seconds into the first period. Thunder goalie Tyler Brennan took a brutal hit a few minutes later but stayed in the game until 10:55 when he pulled himself; Jeremy Brodeur took over in net. The Everblades would build a 3-0 lead on goals by Nathan Staois (9) and Oliver Chau (13) before Brayden Crowder scored his first goal of the season at 13:37 in the second period. The Everblades would score on the power play on a deflection by Mark Senden (7) to complete the scoring. The Everblades won 4-1. Cam Johnson won his second consecutive game, making 28 saves on 29 shots for a .965 save percentage. Tyler Brennan took the loss. The victory keeps the Everblades in fourth place, one point in front of the Orlando Solar Bears. The Everblades will dust off the Skunk Ape sweaters for their final game in this series Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Hertz Arena. The game is already sold out, so expect a loud, partisan crowd hoping to see a sweep.

I write for and photograph the Florida Everblades for ITR. I am a retiree that has turned my hobby of photography into a business. I currently live in Sarasota, Florida with my wife, Christy, but I'm originally from California. My previous career has taken me all over the US and the world and I definitely enjoy traveling. I've played hockey for over 30 years, learning as an adult, and love the game.
