JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The Jacksonville Icemen held their Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, against the visiting Atlanta Gladiators. The Gladiators took a 4-3 overtime victory. The one point gained by Jacksonville, moved them into first place in the South Division, tied on points with Greenville.

Prior to the game, the Icemen held their annual player awards ceremony, Awards were given to; Garrett Van Wyhe – Unsung Hero Award, Ivan Chukarov – Defenseman of the Year, Julian Kislin – Community Engagement Award, Christopher Brown – Team MVP and Chris Grando – Fan Favorite Award, and Rookie of the Year.

After a scoreless first period, the second period saw five goals. Riley Fidler-Schultz was the first on the board for Jacksonville, but Atlanta came back with three straight goals, two of them 10 seconds apart: Michael Marchesan, Joshua Boyer, and Brenden Hoffmann with a powerplay goal. Down by one, Olivier Nadeau tied the game just 27 seconds into the third period, forcing the game to overtime. Jackson Pierson scored the game-winning goal in OT. The two team match-up again Sunday afternoon in their final game of the regular season.
