WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Railers rebranded themselves as the Worcester Monkey Wrenches on Friday, for a two-game weekend series against the visiting Bloomington Bison. The Monkey Wrenches would skate to a 3-1 victory over the Bison, getting one goal in each of the three regulation periods. The alternate I.D. rebranded name was chosen to honor Worcester’s heritage, and the honor of having the Monkey Wrench invented by Loring Coes and Coes Wrench Company of Worcester Ma. in 1840.

Worcester had goals from Matthew Kopperud, Lincoln Hatten, and Jordan Kaplan. The Bison’s lone goal was scored by Danny Katic. Worcester goalie Hugo Ollas would earn first star of the game with 23 saves on 24 shots. Yaniv Perets in net for the Bison would stop 21 of the 24 shots he faced.
