CALGARY, AB – The Coachella Valley Firebirds rolled into the Saddledome on New Year’s Day to face the Calgary Wranglers.

Coachella opened the scoring early in the first period on a goal by John Hayden. Yan Kuznetsov tied it up shortly after, for the Wranglers only goal of the game to end the first period tied at 1-1..
Kole Lind put the Firebirds back ahead at 3:57 of the second period and the team never looked back. Coachella scored four more goals to defeat Calgary 6-1, in the only AHL game scheduled on New Year’s Day.
